Although The 56th Annual New York Film Festival, which runs this year from September 28th to October 14th, will have had it’s Opening Night (“The Favourite”), Centerpiece (“Roma”) and Closing Night (“At Eternity’s Gate”) films already making a splash and winning prizes at other film fests, there will be plenty of other exciting films that will be making their U.S. premieres at this prestigious event.
Some of these featured are in the Main Slate and include "Her Smell" from Alex Ross Perry; Jia Zhangke’s "Ash Is Purest White"; French actor, Louis Garrel's follow-up directorial feature, "A Faithful Man"; "Happy as Lazzaro", the latest feature from Italian filmmaker, Alice Rohrwacher; "Transit" by Christian Petzold; Bi Gan's surreal epic from China, "Long Day's Journey In To Night"; Christophe Honoré's "Plaire, aimer et courir vite (Sorry Angel)"; and "High Life", the first English-language film by French legend, Claire Denis who will also be at the fest to take part in the Talk discussion series.
